Want to know what the top trends for home interiors are likely to be in 2011? Well, you could just wait and see. Or you can read on and find out here.
The urban oasis: the industrial look with exposed brick, metalwork and concrete will continue this year. But the emphasis will be on creating chic interiors, so you’ll find more use of softer textile to soften hard finishes.
Home getaways: 2011 will bring in new ways to make your home a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the world, so the trend will be to continue making our homes feel relaxing and serene.
Repurposing is the new recycling: being green in 2011 will outweigh buying brand new. We won’t stop buying new furniture, but we will look for new ways to re-use what we already have. And we’ll feel good about it! If you already have a Sliderobe, why not think about replacement doors to spruce up your room instead of buying new.
Make every space count: this year, the need to make the most of every square centimetre of space will be paramount for many families. New organization systems, such as Sliderobes interior storage will transform the way we use and enjoy our private space.
Natural environments: as our world gets busier and busier, we’ll look for more ways to bring tranquillity to our home environments. The use of natural materials and finishes will always be in style.
Let’s talk: Living spaces are becoming more open to engage members of the family in different rooms – think open plan kitchen. In 2011, we’ll look for more ways to let our interiors help us engage with each other.
Be bold with colours and strong patterns: feature walls will continue and we’ll use murals, stickers, paintable wallpaper to help us achieve bold results, with minimal effort.
